This voyage follows Norway’s deeply fissured coastline calling in idyllic fjord villages and charming coastal towns. You’ll venture high into the Arctic Circle in your search for the Northern Lights and, if atmospheric conditions are right, you have the chance to witness this simply amazing phenomenon.
Discover Rotterdam’s seafaring history and visit historic Delfshaven, the port departure for the Pilgrim Fathers.
Then, after a day at sea, you’ll cruise into Nordfjord calling at charming Olden. This is your gateway to the awesome Briksdal Glacier and the picturesque Stryn Valley. The bridge linked town of Kristiansund has a centuries-old seafaring tradition and the fascinating harbour area of Innlandet island is the town's oldest preserved quarter. Your next stop Alta is home to the world’s first Northern Lights Observatory and an optional tour takes you away from the city lights in search of this spectacular natural phenomenon.
Honningsvåg is the northernmost port in this voyage and your chance to visit the incredible North Cape before Magellan heads south to the city of Tromsø. Tour choices here include the amazing Arctic Cathedral and a chance to meet the huskies at the Tromsø Wilderness Centre. Trondheim, Norway’s first capital, is a colourful blend of old and new with a fascinating open-air, cultural museum. Surrounded by towering snow-capped mountains, Åndalsnes is a gateway to some stunning fjord scenery. Your final call is Hanseatic Bergen, where you may opt to take the funicular for a view the city from the top of Mount Fløyen.
