Fill your autumn with colour on this New England adventure
Cruise with Aurora from Southampton on a journey into the wild beauty of Canada and autumn colours of New England. You’ll sail south to charismatic New York for three full days in port, before heading back north to Canada, and its iconic seaside towns – think rugged coasts, crab shacks and lighthouses.
Your first call will be St John’s, Newfoundland, with its steep streets and colourful row houses. Next, Corner Brook brims with history and legends of pirates and explorers. Pretty Charlottetown was Canada’s birthplace in 1864, while Halifax, with its dramatic coastline, is one of the closest ports to Europe. Historic Boston is a key port for ‘fall foliage’ trips, and you’ll have an overnight stay to enjoy this friendly city. Fabulous mansions, fantastic scenery and the world famous Ocean Drive make Newport, Rhode Island, a must-see.
Get ready to sink your teeth into the ‘Big Apple’. The Statue of Liberty, Times Square, Macy’s, 911 Memorial, the Empire State Building? With three full days in port, you can afford to cherry pick (or should that be apple pick?)
Portland has a wonderfully restored waterfront, while Bar Harbor has the look of Cornwall, with its craggy, granite cliffs. Explore Saint John’s history-lined streets before your last port of call; Sydney, Nova Scotia, founded by the British in 1785, and set amidst stunning scenery.
